The March edition of the journal josei publisher Shogakukan, Monthly Flowers , announced on Saturday that an anime adaptation of the manga Aloha Higa, SHIROKUMA Café (Cafeteria Polar Bear), will debut in April. The comedy follows the daily lives of penguins, grizzly bears, pandas , koalas and other animals in a coffee shop run by a polar bear.

Higa launched its work in Monthly Flowers in 2006 as his first published work. The Shogakukan published the third volume of the manga in 2010.
